Ride Information & Entry Form- online 9/1/22

Ride Camp

Camp  Boggy Creek is a children’s camp with a large barn, and we are  responsible for leaving the grounds in excellent condition for the next  group of campers.   No arrivals before 10:00 AM on Friday.   Primitive camping is available, and you must  provide your own horse containment unless you rent a stall.  Dogs are okay and must be on a leash at all times, and you must pick up after your pet.  There are no electrical hookups available.

Amenities

Due to Covid, no one can stay in the bunkhouses; you must stay in your trailer or tent.

Two bathrooms are located in the barn, and bathrooms  and showers are available in the bunkhouses, which are several hundred yards away.  10  stalls, 3 shelters, and 1 paddock are available for a fee. They are based on the date that your payment is received.

Primitive Camping

Lots of space to set up your trailer and horse pen.  Plenty of horse water sources at ride camp. Please bring hoses to attach to the spigots.

Trails -Camp Boggy Creek is adjacent to Seminole State Forest, and riders will enjoy  the lovely forest trails.  We’ll also cross over into the Wekiva  trails.   The ride largely consists of gentle one- and two-track trails through the beautiful forest.  Some short stretches of sand.  You will go along gravel roads in a few areas, and there  is generally a grassy space on the sides sufficient for barefooters.   Trail conditions will be updated as the ride date nears.

Helmets and Sanctioning

All riders are required to wear helmets when mounted.  No exceptions.

This ride is sanctioned with AERC, SEDRA, and SERA.  Awards will be given for Top 10, BC, high vet score, and turtle. Awards for juniors too!

Loops

50-mile trail: 3 loops

30-mile trail: 2 loops

14-mile intro: 1 loop

Maximum for the event is 70 riders.  For the 30 and 50, maximum is 60 riders total.  For the 14-mile intro ride, maximum is 10 riders.

Save your spot; register and pay early!

Vetting

Vetting  takes place between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Friday afternoon.  Any  riders that wish to vet in the morning of the ride must advise the ride manager at least one day prior and be pre-registered and fully paid (no onsite registration or payment!), and  you must present horse for vetting 1 hour prior to ride start time.
